All packed!

Well, I'm all packed up and ready to go. I fit everything I need for the next four months in 2 suitcases and a carry-on. (Check out the photo.) Not bad for a girl, huh? Hopefully, I'm not over the 44-lb. weight limit that Korean Air requires. If I am, I'll probably just pay the extra fee so I don't have to deal with rearranging my suitcases in the airport.

Believe it or not, I'm not all that nervous, just anxious about what is ahead. My biggest fear is that I become a big wimp and not take advantage of my time over there. Right now I have plans in the works for a visit to Saigon, Vietnam. My best friend of 13 years has family there with whom she's going to try to arrange me a stay. I'm really excited about this! We probably won't be able to understand each other, but how cool to visit my best friend's family on the other side of the world!!

Tonight I'm focusing on relaxing. Mom is cooking me my early birthday dinner -- New Orleans chicken and my usual Barbie-pink angel food cake. (I wouldn't have it any other way.) Then saying adios to some people at Adobe Gila's. I'm hoping to get a bit of sleep tonight -- I started the malaria pills, so we'll see if they cause nightmares, which I heard they do. Tomorrow's an early morning. :)

Next time I write, I'll be in Cambodia! Look for posts by the end of next week.

Cheers!
