The Laundry Dilemma

I hate doing laundry when it's easy. When all I have to do is separate the clothes, throw them in the washer, add some soap and - bam! - 30 minutes later, clean clothes. So when I have to go trekking about town - trying to ask in broken English, hoping someone understands me - how much a laundry service costs, I have very little motivation.

My only other option is to find me a bucket and some soap an wash them myself. Remember, though, I hate doing laundry. I really have no interest in making it an all-day endeavor. And I don't think they use dryers here because everyone always has clothes hanging. Does that mean I'm going to have stiff underwear?

Well, I've been here a week, so it's about time I get something figured out. I have a feeling that no matter what I do, the clothes aren't going to be the cleanest. I might as well accept that fact now and get on with it.

Oh that is fun, laundry... not...
I am thankful my husband is in charge of that. It's the one thing I am not good at by choice... *wink wink*, I keep turning his shirts and socks pink... I can never figure out what I am doing wrong... LOL
Thanks for sharing your story...

Ahh, all you need is a tub and some woolight :) if that's possible. Living without a washer and dryer has taught my sister and I the art of washing your clothes and hanging them up to dry. There's nothing quite like having a laundry line strung up in your living room. Good luck figureing it out lady!

Great story! Just saw David, and he described some of what you are going through adjusting. You're doing awesome! Gayle

Ugh, I wouldn't want to go that far to do laundry either. I got a new place and one of the requirements was that it had a washer and dryer because I'm too lazy to walk a half block. Good luck on the stiff underwear :-)

Shall we take a collection for the next few months so that when you return you can go on a shopping spree?

Alternative 1:
Wear your clothes over and over and over again. Start using perfume after about the third time.

Alternative 2:
Wear your clothes over again but buy new cheap clothes to wear over again. This one cuts down on the over's and you can also look more like the locals in your new clothes.

Glad I can help since I am an experienced person at this...I put my clothes in the basket dirty and they magically come back clean here!
