Forget Make-up, How About a New Face?

It seems like everything interesting happens back home while I'm abroad. Ohio puts itself on the map as the location of the first "near-total" face transplant. I'm interested in learning the motivation for this surgery. As the article suggests, the transplant has its physical risks, but I imagine the ethical risks are quite high as well.

Here is the local news' take on the story.

I heard about that this morning on the radio. It's facinating and kind of really creepy at the same time. I can see the ethical issues with that as well. Could you imagine having a good friend die and then seeing a face that looks like theirs walking around a couple of months later?
