Seasons Change (and So Does Music)
I've officially made the transition to a new season. Cold weather and sweaters aside, my summer-country music preference is waning and I'm now moving into the autumn-indie rock phase of the year. I'm especially loving Vampire Weekend's The Kids Don't Stand a Chance and Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa. (Ok throw in M79 in there as well. I can't make decisions.) Their "Upper West Side Soweto" groove (thanks Wikipedia) is perfect for spending a cold night in with a cup of tea or driving endlessly between Ohio and Kentucky. I'd love to add their new album to my playlist when it's released in January, but, alas, iTunes has taken over my computer and my hard drive hates me for it.

Man, I do not get the love for Vampire Weekend.
My playlist so far this autumn has been a steady diet of Brand New's new album, "Daisy" along with The Hold Steady's entire discography in heavy rotation as well.
I definitely need to start on my Keeneland mix soon, though. Magnetic Fields will loom powerfully on there.
Hmm...I can't say I've even heard of Vampire Weekend. I feel so out of the loop. Anyway, I've been on a Duffy kick lately. Oh and Ben Harper.
My change of seasons doesn't happen through music, it happens through drinks. I switch from coffee to tea in the fall.
I've pulled out the oldies this season. For some reason I'm feeling Neil Young and Elton John this week.
