My Bucket List

Before I graduated from college (and before the movie "Bucket List" hit theaters) I came up with a list of things I want to accomplish before I die. As I look at this list, I can't help but laugh that almost half of it is countries of the world and others are extremely open-ended. Let's take a look at how much of a dent I've made in this list (bolded items have been accomplished):
  • Scuba Dive
  • All 7 continents
  • Backpacking through Europe
  • Sky Dive
  • India
  • Egypt
  • South Africa
  • Australia
  • Vietnam
  • Biking cuisine vacation
  • Windjammer cruise
  • Write a children’s book (Finished the draft of "Dumpster Bear." Now looking for a way to get a publisher to look at it.)
  • See Wimbledon
  • Learn to write a grant
  • Write a story about Somali refugees in Columbus
  • Water ski
  • Rustic canoe trip
  • Be a writer
  • Peace Corps (I think this was my solution to living overseas. Not so much a goal these days.)
  • Own my own coffee shop
  • Pilates/Yoga extraordinaire (One year in. Becoming extraordinary with every downward dog.)
  • Perform Belly Dancing (My hips have lost their wiggle since I took the class two years ago, but there's still a chance I can make this happen one day.)
  • Move to a big city (I think Phnom Penh counts, but in case it doesn't, I did live outside L.A. for 3 months.)
  • Volunteer for a cause I believe in (Like I said, some of these are so vague, but hey, it got done and want to do it again!)
I'd like to add a few more items to my list:
  • Read more of the classics (especially Charlotte Bronte, Jane Austen, Shakespeare, William Faulkner)
  • Learn to make things that we usually buy at the grocery store (I started tonight with yogurt. Thanks Alison for your recipe!)
  • Go backpacking (the outdoorsy kind)
  • Ride my bike instead of drive my car
What things are on your bucket list?

I like that one is "learn to write a grant". Most people wouldn't have that. I don't have a full list, but one is definitely going to be to hit all 50 states. I'm getting close!
